Care Quality Commission: The CQC is the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. The CQC aims to make sure that care provided by hospitals, dentists, ambulances, care homes and services in people’s own homes and elsewhere meets national standards of quality and safety. Commission on improving dignity in care: The Commission on improving dignity in care was established as part of a joint initiative from the NHS Confederation, Age UK and the Local Government Association (LGA), to help improve dignity in care for older people in hospitals and care homes. The Commissioners include representatives of patients and residents, experts from the world of nursing and medicine, and management of health and social care services
Skills for Care: Skills for Care ensures that England’s adult social care workforce has the appropriately skilled people in the right places working to deliver high quality social care. To achieve this, it focus on the attitudes, values, skills and qualifications people need to undertake their roles.
UK Home Care Association (UKHCA): United Kingdom Homecare Association Ltd (UKHCA) is the professional association of home care providers from the independent, voluntary, not-for-profit and statutory sectors. UKHCA helps organisations that provide social care, which may include nursing services, to people in their own homes, promoting high standards of care and providing representation with national and regional policy-makers and regulators. The Association represents over two-thousand members across the United Kingdom, in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Accredited Living Wage Employers: A Living Wage Employer ensures that all employees are paid at least the Living Wage. This includes individuals who work on a regular basis at your premises for a subcontractor, such as cleaners or security staff. Between them, the employers committed to paying a Living Wage have lifted more than 45,000 families out of working poverty. Over 100 employers from every sector are now paying a living wage. The Living Wage Employer mark recognises and celebrates this leadership. Alzheimer’s Society: Alzheimer’s Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
National Autistic Society: The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism.
In Control: In Control is a national charity. Its mission is to create a fairer society where everyone needing additional support has the right, responsibility and freedom to control that support
Independent Age: Independent Age provides an information and advice service for older people, their families and carers, focusing on social care, welfare benefits and befriending services. This is integrated with local support, including one-to-one and group befriending schemes.
Long-term care fees information at Partnership: Partnership is the longest established UK insurer specialising in the design and manufacture of financial products for people whose health and lifestyle means that their life expectancy is likely to be reduced.
Social Care Institute for Excellence: The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) improves the lives of people who use care services by sharing knowledge about what works. SCIE is an independent charity working with adults, families and children’s social care and social work services across the UK. SCIE also works closely with related services such as health care and housing.
Ceretas Ceretas is the professional association that represents individuals and organisations who work in home care either in the statutory, independent or not for profit sector.
